Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP is urging residents to take part in NHS England’s consultation on the future of Harbottle GP surgery, which was closed in August when the resident GP handed back her contract. Since then, a satellite surgery has operated in the surgery for two days per week run form the Rothbury practice, as an interim measure.
NHs England has written to local residents asking for their views, which will be taken in to account by the NHS Clinical Commissioning Group, local councillors and Healthwatch, who will look at future healthcare provision in the Coquet valley area.
Anne-Marie said: “It is really important that those who were registered with Harbottle surgery let the NHS know their priorities for local healthcare. The NHS will not know what is most important for local people unless we tell them. It is vital they get a real sense of the types of services local people need so they can decide how to best deliver them.”
