The Rt Hon Anne-Marie Trevelyan formally kicked off her General Election campaign today, with launch events in Berwick, Alnwick and Morpeth.
Having been elected Member of Parliament for the Berwick-upon-Tweed constituency in 2015, 2017 and 2019, she is seeking re-election as the Conservative Candidate for the re-named constituency of North Northumberland. The boundary changes mean the constituency will newly take in Morpeth.
Anne-Marie said:
It was great to see the enthusiastic support from fellow residents in Berwick, Alnwick and Morpeth today, at the launch events to kick off my re-election campaign.
I have been honoured to represent North Northumberland for the last 9 years and I am proud to be standing as your proven Conservative Candidate.
When I was first elected, I committed to fight for a Fair Share of Resources for our patch, because we had been forgotten for too long by Westminster. I have secured over £800m of investment for our patch, my campaign to get the A1 dualled has now received full planning approval, is fully funded and this means the new government will be able to crack on with contractors and build.
If re-elected, I will continue to champion, for you and yours: connectivity - better broadband and getting A1 spades in the ground; protecting the environment; access to and upgraded health facilities, modernised school buildings; and getting the right housing in the right place. I do hope I may count on your support.
