Anne-Marie Trevelyan, the MP for Berwick-upon-Tweed and founder of the Broadband4Northumberland campaign is organising a special Broadband Summit next Friday in Rothbury to speak to local business owners and residents about the progress of rural broadband.
Anne-Marie Trevelyan, who has been campaigning to ensure that superfast broadband is available to everyone in her constituency said; "It is vitally important that every home, business, school and hospital has access to superfast broadband. Great progress has been made but there is still work to do especially in some of the most rural and remote parts of Northumberland. I am pleased that representatives from BT and from BDUK, the government body responsible for getting broadband to every home, will attend to hear from residents and discuss their specific issues and how we can address the poor connection speeds in areas such as up the Coquet valley".
Wendy Farmer, Local Projects Deliver Officer from BDUK and Simon Robertson, the BT North East regional partnership director will be in attendance.
The summit will take place next Friday at 6pm, 7th August in the Jubilee Hall, Rothbury.
