Staying at home - guidance for people and businesses

Stay home, save lives.

Last night the Prime Minister addressed the nation to explain why we must all stay home, for at least three weeks, in order to slow the spread of Coronavirus to enable the NHS to cope and save as many lives as possible.

Stay at home

You must stay at home, only leaving for the following very limited purposes:

  • Shopping for basic necessities, as infrequently as possible.
  • One form of exercise a day – for example, a run, walk or cycle – alone or with members of your immediate household.
  • Any medical need, to provide care or to help a vulnerable person.
  • Travelling to and from work, but only where this absolutely cannot be done from home. If you are not sure if you should be going to work, have a look at my guidance HERE

Shops, caravan parks and other public premises must now close.  There are some exceptions.  Detailed guidance on this is below.
